Provigil 400 mg
Remeron 60 mg
Seroquel 300 mg
Mirapex 4 mg
Namenda 20mg
Clonazepam 2mg
Diagnosed with Bipolar II
Special considerations:
Neuropsychological Assessment testing showed considerable impairment
of short term memory function, executive functioning. In current state
of major depression. Neurological Assessment showed Parkinsonian
symtoms caused by Geodon (discountinued). Some symptoms now in
remittance.

So far some improvement has been seen. Been on this med combination
for about 1 month.

Hi Larry K,

Welcome!! Wow, you are on ALOT of medication. I wonder if you have had thyroid function tests done? Your memory situation concerns me, although with all those meds, how can you think straight!! I have Bipolar II as well and am only on lithium. I was on olanzapine initially till the lithium settled in and then took myself off it when I felt ready.

I have tried seroquel and i found it to be okay. As for the other ones, I don't know them. I hope your situation resolves itself quickly.......

Good luck......

Hi--I have bipolar 1 & am on a lot of meds, but not the same as you, except for the the Provigil & I think Klonopin is the same as one of the names you gave. Had EXTREME sleepiness on Geodon--fell asleep while driving.

If you are having a lot of side effects I would definitely keep harping on your pdoc. I do have some pretty severe memory problems, but I was in such bad shape before (suicidal & paranoid & irrational & delusional) that it is a trade-off that I had to accept.

So: Abilify, Lamictal, Provigil, Trazadone, Klonopin, Topamax, Concerta (ADHD)--Also take meds for low thyroid & B-12 shot monthly for pernicious anemia. Been on it for 12 yrs. w/ changes due to having some episodes (a depression one winter when Wellbutrin was added then off it in the spring; one BAD depression hit suddenly after a 5 month hypo mania that I didn't report to pdoc as I didn't know it was dangerous & it felt so GOOD--only sleeping 2-3 hours a night; lots of energy; high self-esteem (very rare for me), etc. & had an overdose w/that depression which then lead to 2 yrs. of mixed episodes & changing meds & lots of therapy--so that long-lasting stability of 7 yrs. didn't mean I was a "poster child" (well, middle-aged woman) for a successful bipolar patient, that's for sure.

But, my mother was bipolar & didn't make it so I am a success & keep fighting & you will be one, too. But do talk to your provider about side effects & your quality of life & watch your symptoms! Don't be dumb like me & think "How fun. No need to sleep. I get so much done & feel so great, etc."

I've been on Provigil and Remeron. Massive weight gain with Remeron, never felt that hungry in my life and that includes my pregnancies, which is why I was taken off it. I didn't care for the way Provigil made me feel and it wasn't a necessary med at the time, so I only took it when I was going to fall flat on my face from exhaustion. I don't recall any particular side effects, though, and it definitely woke me up. This was all before I was diagnosed with bipolar II -- in fact the doc (not a pdoc) thought it was a combination of depression and fibromyalgia! More like BP and sleep apnea....
