I have been through so much therapy it's sick. And I'm still sick too.
How many years does it take? I was hospitalized 3 times over a total of 2.5 years as a teen. I had daily therapy. I have monthly docs appointments and have a therapist that I wish I could see more than once every two weeks. Need him like every freakin day. Will this ever get better??? I've done so many workbooks and read so much. Still just trying to get through a day is hard... ![]() |

Is it that it has been too long, or that it is unsatisfactory because you wish it could be more? |

Sweets, I have been in and out of therapy since I was 16. I have also been hospitalised 14 times since then......I am now 35. I think little of how long, more, what am I getting out of it? and Is this important to me right now?
Therapy has more often than not, saved my life and my sanity.......you really need to assess where you are at. As Echoes said, can you see him more? Can't remember, but do you have a psychologist as well? They are invaluable. I love my pdoc, but my T is the purveyor of wisdom and therapeutic benefit. Don't be afraid of how much therapy you need or seem to want.......we all go through periods of greatest need.......as with all things it is in flux and will change over time. Think little of how much, think more of if it is helping......if not then you need to seek alternatives..... You take care, trust the process and we are here...... ![]() ![]() ![]()
