Amazon.com Just informed me that Borderline Personality Disorder for Dummies is on SALE for ~$13.70, lol.
I would strongly recommend this book if you have BPD, or are helping someone through this disorder. More so than the text book versions IMO.
I would like to tell you why & you can make an intelliegent decision.
Marsha Linehan's book BPD is now $55.00 & it coinsides with a detailed text book. The first 2/3 of the book explains academically how to use her DBT in detail. I tested the readability level of Linehan's book. It is a College Sophmore level. Most text books are written at a 6th - 8th grade level.
The ideas are new to you firstly and you will be taking a great deal of time in understanding Linehan's ideas & concepts at this readability level. The last 1/3 of the book are the Handouts which are the real substance of the DBT skills. These are used in DBT Groups.
THe BPD Dummy Book is well organized, much easier reading
(no struggling with psycho-vocabulary) it gets to the points in a clear & concise way. It is $13.70 till July 27,2009. Marsha Linehan is the Guru for Bpd'ers, but BPD Dummy Book is the way to learn the DBT skills fast, quick, & easily. IMHO.

I don't know about anywhere else, but this has not yet been released for the UK, I don't think it is until August. I was going to possibly get it though, seems like a good book.
