My quiz result suggests that I have BPD traits. I'm not exactly sure though does it share traits with Dythmia which I am diagnosed with? My counselor and psychiatrist just say that I'm going through an identity crisis and it's common for teenagers and I'm just going through a delayed phase. I'm 23. Is it possible that my psychiatrist just hasn't done enough research to understand that maybe it's not just a phase?

I'm sure your psychiatrist has done his homework, but have you? You are obviously having some issues already or you wouldn't be in counseling. You don't say how long you've been in counseling, but maybe as you work on the issue that brought you there you might find your BPD symptoms disappear.

You need to trust your doctor and counselor. Have they given you a diagnosis? Are they in agreement in your diagnosis and treatment? Did you understand and believe that diagnosis (at least until you took this quiz)?

If you trust your doctors, and believe they are competent (and you can research this online) you still have the options: trust them when they say you don't have BPD, prove to them you do have BPD, find a new dr and counselor.

Good luck. Your life's just getting started, try not to take it so seriously.
