Good film...I think it portrayed BPD well, as well as a host of other psychiatric illnesses...I think it was a thoughtful, colorful look at MI from a patient's perspective and enlightenment of what is wrong with her...and her journaling so constant and seriously truthful...i hope that i can learn to journal like that and be more attentive to my needs and desires...

Its funny this thread popped up since I found the book yesterday after 8 years and just re-read the entire book. I remember watching the movie over and over, knowing every scene of the movie. I keep thinking that the characters are pretty normal (maybe except the martian's girlfriend and polly) and I have a hard time understanding why they were locked up for so long. In the book it has a part where susana sees Lisa and Georgina, and I feel like everybody ends up just dealing with the world like everyone else... Is it crazy to think they are the normal ones? I keep wondering what makes them different from "normal"people..

I really liked this movie. Been awhile since I've seen it though and when I watched it I had no idea what Borderline Personality was. However- I just watched Prozac Nation last night and even though it says she has atypical depression- it really seems like BPD to me... At least from my understanding of this disorder.
Thanks for this!
