Does anyone with bpd have a problem with having no interests? It seems like everyone has something that they enjoy doing or makes them happy and I have nothing, no hobbies or desires. I just go through the motions of getting my kids food, clean house, etc same thing everyday over and over again....

I used to until a doctor came to my house and pointed out that everything in there was a reflection of someone else. In my own house, there was no evidence of "me." It took me decades after that event, but I finally do know some things I enjoy and do have some interests. Many of them do stem from past abuses, but some come from pleasent memories too.
For instance, I am interested in watching crime shows because they usuall result in the bad guy getting justice. In my case, the perpetrator neverdid get punished, society never did vaildate my ain and it has left a HUGE hole in my soul. Watching these shows gives me a tiny band aid to that hole n my soul. It helps me to see tht the bad guy does not always get away with it.
Another thing I enjoy is knitting. My mother was a invalidating unnurturing person. She did teach me to knt though and that is one of the most pleasentmemories I have with her. Knitting gives me the closest thing I ever had to acceptance from my mother and it is a constructive activity where I actually create n article that can be used for some practical purpose.
Your interests will b different from mine, but maybe this will help you to find yours. I do think that it is difficult to find our interests, as some of us with BPD are much better at erflecting others interests than finding our own.
Best Wishes to you.

I do have interests, however when things are hard I tend to lose interest in those things I am passionate about and just go through the motions of daily life. Or I will have interests and think about doing them a lot but will never get around to it because there is always something else on my mind.

Me too. It makes me unhappy that essentially my life is get up, go to work, come home, dinner, bed. When i had a partner my onterests were his interests. I have no idea what mine are and I am so ashamed of myself

Thanks guys, it was nice to hear I'm not alone. The everyday motions of life get too much sometimes and then I also say "screw the house" dishes pile up, clothes pile up. I feel like if I do one more load of dishes I will snap. I don't have an out, something that will calm me down. I always feel like something is wrong with me. There are days I want to be normal (without bpd) so bad it hurts. I want to smile and laugh with my children, to go a day without screaming, just to be calm.
