My therapist thinks my dh has PPD. He is going to his own psych today as I have begged him to get help or at least get a diagnosis so we know what we're dealing with. After researching all the symptoms, he fits the bill. Unfortunately, he also is ADHD and suffers from depression and anxiety issues that aren't always tied to a paranoia per se. So, I was coming here to look for support. Some days I just don't know what to say when he says, "The neighbors are out to get us." Or something along those lines. To me, it seems so far fetched and totally outside my thinking and comprehension. He literally thinks people are against him and are purposely trying to make his life miserable. He wants to take all our cash out of the bank and bury it in the yard. It's craziness.

I'm a dumb dumb...what is a dh?

I know taking stimulants can make you paranoid, and exaserbate those thoughts first hand. If he's on meds for ADD, they could be making it worse. I can't even drink coffee without paranoid thoughts racing in my head.

Some of it you can ignore...Like you could ask him what a reasonable amount of money would be for him to feel safe...and let him burry it in that back yard. LOL But whoever this is will have to learn how to rethink. But it might be the ADHD meds. Check on that.

if he burys his money in the garden, the neighbours dog might sniff it out and dig it up and carry it back home, then the neighbours keep cash, he will be proved right on one of his points.

I guess he'd learn the bank was a safer place then though, and her point would be made.

Love it, LOL! FYI: Dh is short for dear husband. He doesn't take any meds for anything. He is anti-medication for the most part. Pretty much part of his paranoia and fear issues: he's afraid drugs will turn him into a zombie and that he won't be able to think straight.

He also has anger issues, depression, insomnia, past substance abuse(alcohol), and he's passive aggressive to the point where I want to run screaming for the hills. I really wonder what his diagnosis is going to be. I had no idea what a psychiatric issue even was when I got married to him nor did I even know what ADD or ADHD were. I was totally clueless and naive(and young). After all these years, I still don't feel I handle things well with him, LOL!

That sounds really hard for your husband and for you too.
I hope that his own therapist and psychiatrist can help him so he can feel better.
Burying all your cash sounds like some serious paranoia/delusion. This must be so hard for you.
