how do you all deal with precieved abandonment or rejection?
![]() i've been babysitting my brothers kid for a lot longer than i've wanted to because i've been afraid of rejection. i can't deal the thought of anyone being upset with me or about me in any way. it eats me alive. after talking to my brother about not wanting to babysit anymore everything is fine. i'm so relieved. i thought he'd be so mad at me. another thing is i've waited TWO years before dealing with rejection/abandonment from a friend. TWO years, why did it take so long to hit me??? |

I struggle with the same thing. My fear of failure, rejection, abandonment can paralyze me. The thought of someone being angry with me, just like you said, is consuming.
My only advice, is don't wait two years to post it on here, ask for our advice, encouragement... maybe we can offer insight before you feel like you've wasted time... even though we have the same fears, we can usually offer sound reason, when its not our own fears, ya know? I am glad you did talk to him though. ![]() |

I agree with Ashleigh28- she put it so greatly!
Run it through with others, get support on it, get advice- with me, I have noticed as I get older, it seems like "biting the bullet and doing it" gets some what easier in some categories- some that is not all. and easier is not really the correct term, but getting it done I guess I should say.
