I have a date for my DBT programme assessment! I know i probably shouldn't be excited or get my hopes up - but its nice to feel like im finally getting somewhere. Nothing else to add really, i just thought id post for those who might be interested as well as to encourage those who feel they might never get the chance to try and get on a programme. I may still not be accepted but for the first time in a while i feel......hopeful

That's good news!!! Are you in the States?? If you are then you'll more than likely be accepted. You'll basically go over your issues/symptoms, what dbt is about, more than likely do some tests that they'll use as a baseline....Anyhow, good luck!!

Thanks for the info cbox - im not in the states but ive already had a preliminary meeting with them and they made it known that they felt i would be a good candidate - the assessment is over about 10 weeks and then from there i might be accepted and then have to wait for a space to come available on the programme but this is all fine by me - im just glad that the wheels are in motion!

Thanks again everyone for your kind responses - ill keep you posted

Good Luck!! I hope that you get accepted... If you want to familiarize yourself with the course program there's a great website .. www.dbtselfhelp.com that goes over the complete dbt program and it's free.

Bekki, that's fabulous! Well, getting what you want is fabulous is fabulous ... actually, I knew very little about DBT :Blush2:.

I hope it's everything you imagine it to be. I hope it gets you where you most want to be.
