First, thank you all for being here. I am announcing--so no one will worry about me or be offended--that I will be off the forum for a while, not sure how long, due to a medical/psychiatric issue. I am traveling to a larger city to see a specialist tomorrow and I am glad to see the specialist but worried that he or my sickness will prevent me from returning to my home and job. Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I'm sorry I won't be here for you all for some unknown period of time. ALSO, I posted a really good advice to HelloAnxiety and I hope everyone who has contact with other humans in RL will read it. It is outstanding advice that makes me feel proud of myself. shipping

"Bon voyage" - hope you can return to us soon. I read your post to helloanxiety - what a great idea! and similar to what we do here? You may have invented "the emailing cure"! Best wishes and good luck.

Hello, I'm back! This doctor could not figure out what is wrong with me; he is mystified. Next for a brain MRI and then I may have to go to another state to see someone else. I'm in a fairly good mood despite the mystery because I was worried he would just order me into a hospital for more testing. I got to come home and I leave again briefly for the MRI. Did I say this state sucks for medical facilities? Well, I am home.

It took my docs years to finally piece things together about what was going on with me. (BPD) I think that had to do with me though. I am the expert at diverting away from the truth about the real me underneath.
I really wouldn't worry about being committed to a state hospital where you are locked up for a long time. People who are sent there are usually really confused with reality and are a danger to themselves and others. (Danger does not just include physical harm, but say things like so confused that they couldn't find their way back home.) But, even if you were admitted to one, they don't necessarily keep you there for life. They try to help you so that you can be on your way again. Like the temporary stay at psych hospital wards. I don't know, I guess what I am trying to say is that there can be some good in things that we are afraid of.
