It seems to me that 80% of the time I reply to a thread OR begin a thread, all activity on that thread ceases. Of course I am paranoid. Of course I am afraid people don't like me. And I also worry about others. For example, I just responded to someone who was having anxiety in the supermarket. Now I have to worry that NO ONE else will post to that thread and it is my fault. All posting ceases with shipping coming as last person to post. So, is it me? Or some technological quirk I don't understand? I want to help people without jinxing their thread.

I think, as you said, you might be a weeny bit paranoid

Anyway, i like reading your posts and as hard as it may seem, i wouldn't worry too much about what gets said on here. Here obviously isn't real life and as i said in another post, would most people say what they post on here to your face? Probably not.

Don't worry, i got your back - if peeps mess with you, they mess with me

maybe it's because you say such wonderful things and give so much insite that nothing else needs to be said?? I've done that too (a lot!) and wonder why everyone hates me (of course they don't really)... Especially when I start a thread asking for advice or something.. it's like 'hello, is anybody out there???'

Keep on postin!!

there is actually a thread or post on here somewhere about LPS - Last Post Syndrome! I felt a LOT better after I read it, realizing I wasn't the only one who felt that way! I agree with tattoogirl, you DO give very thoughtful well-written advice. That is NOTICED here and much appreciated. if I find that crazy thread i'll let you know. But you'll probably stop feeling self-conscious after a few months or so? just concentrate on who you can help, look for unanswered posts once in a while, maybe find a game you like (NEVER thought i'd do that, but then I started having FUN!), and soon you'll be an old hand! or a grand poobah, or something!

Gee, thanks you guys! I had no idea...thanks for the support, for the posts after mine, and for the comforting idea that people find my posts insightful. That helps.

I go to another forum where I'm a regular thread killer.

Maybe I said it all so nothing needs saying after that?

Hahha.. I wish.

I understand shipping, I feel the same way. I thought I was the only one. I started to wonder if my weirdness was just so visible that it revolted people.

It's not "you", but it sure does seem that way sometimes!

I still have times when I feel like the big fuddy duddy on PC. I frequently check previous posts, to see what's happened since I last posted. I'm paranoid that others don't like me, or that they think I'm talking out of my rear. I push myself to keep posting despite my insecurities. Maybe, someday soon, it'll disappear.

Point is, you aren't alone.

Well, your name IS shezBUT - how do you pronounce that, BTW? Actually I will kind of force myself to write less than brilliant responses, just so I don't feel like I always have to write brilliant responses? otherwise I would never let my emotions show, for one thing, either mad or sad or glad or mushy. so I just try to let whatever out, and apologize later. but I am wondering if I did go too far recently.

oh, but I never took YOU for a fuddy duddy. even if I did say that about the fashion article! oopsie!

OR>>>>>>> You could choose to look at it as your advice is SO good that no one else can top it, and so they don't try.

I think you should try and change ur mindset... For ie. Rather than ur current mindset of..... you post --> no one else responds --> no one likes you. TOOOOOOOOOOO you post --> no one else responds --> who the f**k cares. (or whatever you want it to be)

The important thing to remember is ....give YOUR advice, whether it agrees or disagrees with the masses. How YOU deal with something may be what works for the person reading your post... Stay true to yourself....

Not sure whether this helps or not... If you try it though it will come with practice...

I feel very much the same!

Maybe it's my reading strategy. I struggle to keep up, so I read the oldest threads first. That means the thread is probably dead even before I get a chance to contribute.

Can definitely relate to this - sometimes it becomes so overwhelming for me, that I have to leave for a while - it is an interesting experience on here. Soup

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
