how do you feel about old photos? i find them very triggering and extremely hard to discuss on therapy

I completely agree. If I look at old photos, I immediately feel the emotion I was feeling at the time which was usually depressed, no matter the occasion. Even it is was a holiday photo, I can see the pain behind my eyes. I just avoid them.

I find my family photos of my ex, my kids and I extremely triggering. Pink's lyrics actually go through my head when I see or just even imagine the photo..."In our family portrait, we look pretty happy, we look pretty normal...let's go back to that". I was anything but happy in that photo, I just managed to paste on a smile.
