I may or may not have bpd, I do have some bpd traits, some days more so then others. (or some days more strongly then others...) But there are a number of other things that could be 'wrong' with me.
But I'm thinking about possibly trying to find a therapist, or counslor of some type. My question is- with a possiblity of bpd, do I need to find someone that works with bpd? (I also may or may not have eating disorder issues, and have been told I should try to find someone that works with EDs, as not everyone does.) So if I find a therapist that doesn't work with bpd, but then they decide I may have that, are they going to drop me? (I know, that bpd clients are some of the least well recieved clients into counseling). So yeah, I think I may just be S-O-L anyways, as there isn't a whole lot of choice available to me locally that my insurance will pay for. And we're broke and my husband doens't seem to want to 'budget' in any extra money to pay for anything like that.

Well,
Group DBT was SO helpful for me ~ which does work for several different disorders (ED's, depression, SA, and BPD). But it isn't an easy therapy, done in 12 weeks or whatever. It takes time and commitment. I wasn't able to complete DBT, as I stepped back when we got to acceptance vs. non-acceptance. That said, my personal T has been no individual style throughout. And that's worked well for me. Hope that you get a good connection soon!
