My husband and I have been estranged since November 2010 because of his alcoholism, psychological abuse, and unwillingness to find a job to help support our 16 month old daughter
A few days ago when he was real drunk he told his mother he'd kill her in her sleep so she called the cops. They found a knife under his bed.
He's currently in jail on a felony charge with fifty thousand bale.
I never really thought he was dangerous before, but now I don't know what to think. Sober, he's a nice guy and harmless. Drunk, he can be a monster.
We both have BPD, but I'm getting treatment and he's... not. I'm just done. I give up. I want a divorce and full custity with no or supervized visitation.
I feel lost and confused. My poor daughter will never have the good man dad she deserves.

Your intuition is always right. Protect your daughter at any cost. Get that divorce and get your custody. I'm here to support you ... XO

Hi, Throughbeingcool ... Was sad reading your post, (i have b.p.d also, thats why im checking out the posts) ... I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for you. But, the reality of it all is, he does need help and hopefully in prison, he will get the help he needs and depending on how long hes in there, will give him plenty of time to think about his distructful behaviour and the family he has now lost, (you and your child) I feel you are doing the right thing e.g getting a divorce, as you need to feel safe, protect yourself, your chlld and your family. Wishing you the very best, do take care.
