Welcome. Any kind of dx (diagnosis) can be scary. The good news is here's a world of info and support right at your fingertips. Bpd is tricky in that even when we have our ah ha m0ments and understand our quirks, it's still a battle working around them. I've heard good things about CBT and DBT, and would like to look at these types of therapy once I'm employed and have health insurance. If you're interested, there are workbooks available online, but I don't have the discipline for that
.
Look forward to getting to know you.XOXO

Hi There, just been diagnosed myself with BPD, except I've got 20yrs on you. I wish so much that I new back when I was your age as I have lived life jumping beween jobs, relationships etc. with no stablilty or plans that could be adhered to....pretty chaotic. After researching BPD and others experiences, it was like looking in a mirror and answered so many questions. I'm now really looking forward to the future and will be going through CBT over the next year. I wish I had realised what was up so many years ago, but guess I'm just glad I've caught it now, as much for those around me as for myself. One thing I know is that I like myself as a person, but hate myself for preventing that person coming out all the time. Regards being unemployed, I was lucky to move into jobs that suited my BPD traits...happy to share more if you want. Good luck with the journey and I would take it as a positive that you've been diagnosed now instead of going though life feeling different with none understanding you.
