I recently started hanging out with one of my coworkers. About a month ago, he stood me up and I waited 45 minutes where we were supposed to meet up. No call, no text, nothing. He didn't feel like going out when he woke up. He ended up confessing that he has bipolar disorder and we bonded over that since I was diagnosed with BPD a few years ago.
We talk a lot at work and our friendship is very intense (probably because of our issues... we both aren't being treated (therapy or medication) for our problems) We ended up hanging out a few times and had sex one night. Nothing changed between us and we still act the same. We were supposed to see each other today but he texted me saying he had to clean up his living room... Obviously I'm livid right now, bawling my eyes out and assuming he used me all along and doesn't care about me. Has anyone with BPD ever become involved with someone who has bipolar? It sucks because when things are good, they're amazing and life is grand. When they fall apart, might as well jump off the roof because I feel abandoned and broken. |

This isn't exactly what you were asking, but one of my closest friends is bipolar. We get along rather well, usually, and she understands my emotional shifts and extremes in a way few people can.
