I am a woman searching for the light at the end of the tunnel that is mental illness. After suffering from depression and anxiety that gradually worsened over the past 19 years, I was diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder in 2007 and Borderline Personality Disorder in 2011. Since that time, worldly success has been fleeting, friends have been lost, and I have been living in a world of never-ending complication and frustration.
I hope that by sharing my experience, you may find courage to tackle your own personal issue (it certainly does not have to be a mental illness!), develop the virtue to reach out to others, and discover that information is empowering when understood and used.
