what exactly is borderline personality disorder?

Hi whatsnew, welcome to Psych Central!

Here are Psych Central's articles on Personality Disorders in general and Borderline Personality Disorder in particular. The diagnosis has already had a fairly complicated history and may get revised some more in the future.

There's a whole lot in this forum about people's experience of BPD. For lots of short anecdotes, have a look at the thread 2) You know you are borderline when... and its predecessor, You know you're borderline when....
