Went to my GP today. Explained my symptoms... She said 'I don't know what you expect me to do.'
In the end she prescribed be propranolol...

Any one taken this before?

She wouldn't give me sleeping tablets.

She didn't refer me to anyone...

If I had any other illness, bipolar. Depression. Diabetes etc, then there would be a clear course of treatment, with BPD especially where I live, it's like 'well there not much we can do About that.'

I'm so sorry they treated you this way. I'm in uk and my doctor was great and referred me straight away.

Maybe see if to can see another doctor. Find out if there one that specialises in this sort of stuff. Or maybe one that just has a heart an not waiting for there coffee break

Thanks for this!

Any good therapist would know how to treat you. GP don't have training in this mental illness. Suggest seeing an experienced shrink.
Thanks for this!

I was in the mental health team before, but they were mainly there for people with bipolar and psychosis they didn't really have any treatment for what I was going through. she said I had been discharged from the mental health services now and that I should have used them while I had chance. I said it was the wrong service.
I don't know what the usual course of action would be if a GP was referring someone with suspected BPD.

I took my symptoms to doctor, and explained my history.
They already had history of depression panic and anxiety attacks.
He referred me to the mental health team, where I had a meeting they then started me in skills for life therapy. I then had another meeting were they confirmed and fully diagnosed BPD.

I have another appointment Monday think they changing my therapy to cbt. I think that's the right name for it.

Do you research, take it to a different doctor. Explain how you feel. Hopefully this one will understand. There is help on the NHS don't let that one doctor tell you there not

I already have a BPD diagnosis and have had my 3 years treatment that everyone gets...

It's as if she is saying, 'it doesn't matter that you're depressed because you were treated for 3 years by mental health professionals and then discharged so of they couldn't find a treatment how am I going to?'

She won't refer me back to that team as like I said they deal with people with paychosis...

So apart from prescribing me anxiety drugs I guess I'm just a lost cause

Most local councils provide a free counselling service.
Type it in on your search engine and area. See what's about.
You can apply online. It's a bit of a wait but better then nothing and could help.
