Is it possible to get a free online evaluation/diagnosis? Or do you HAVE to go see a docter? More important, do you always have to pay for it?

I am not sure about that but there are a lot of free online tests from different medical websites.. if you need to talk to a doctor, this site has doctors that you can talk to..

I did online test before I went to my doctor, and then wrote down episodes of my life. And showed my doctor all the evidence.
I never showed him the bipolar stuff tho just the BPD. I was referred and shortly diagnosed after 2 meetings an now in group therapy.
Thanks for this!

I started therapy for marital problems. I had no idea I was bipolar...even with the suicidal ideation. My therapist took a long while to come around to telling me, but if I had gone in with some notes and maybe a friend, I know she would have been able to help me and offer suggestions rather quickly. Trick is to include as many symptoms as you can over a few sessions because they only have your info. Something that may not seem relevant to you may be helpful to them.

Bringing a friend is a god idea.

Writing is great. Your particular therapist willl, I'm sure allow you the freedom to do what workd for you with communication.

Mine will STFU when I say what she is doing is not productive or is dead wrong.

We click. You will find someone you click with.

Hard work, but you can do it.

So I should just do a lot of quizzes and see if most of them agree on a specific problem?
Maybe I should use the Mood Tracker too...

Here's a few you can try. Nothing will beat a true evaluation, however, though that doesn't have to come right away. You can start working on yourself way before that happens.
Thanks for this!

I used mood panda when assessing my moods. It was helpfully and also you get support.
I downloaded it in my App Store for phone. But I'm sure you can use it on your pc too

AFAIK, there are no free online DXs. You can take assessments online but they are not going to give you an official diagnosis. For that you have to deal with a real doc. Now whether any of them do them for free online is a separate question but I doubt it.

The first one I gave offers actual online therapy that I thought about doing but I've had problems with texting and thought twice about it. If you sign up with them, they occasionally have specials and will notify you when they do. They are not free but will delay payment if you use Paypal. Have no idea how good they are, they basically do a CBT program with Borderlines. I'd research them further prior to doing it.
