[Ultra Darkness]

To put it bluntly, I can't plan to do anything. If someone asks me to do something, I have to do it immediately or I'll forget. If I feel like drawing at 10 pm I can't decide to do it in the morning, because I won't feel like it. If anything needs to be done, I have to do it when I think of it, or it won't get done in a timely fashion (or at all).
Does anyone else have this quirk?

Yes, all I have to do is turn around & face another direction & the thought is forgotten...
Tons of things don't get done, forget convo mid-sentence, embarrassing...

Well, I don't know if this is what you mean, but I can't plan either, because there's too much time between now and then and I get nervous and change my mind. I don't forget though.

Yes I am like this, growing more so lately. I don't necessarily forget all the time as much as it just doesn't get done because I won't feel like it later.

No you aren't talking to yourself. LOL I have to work and am in the states, central time, fyi. I don't always get to post until later in the evening or on weekends.

This might be different but I can't plan for social occasions because I never know if I will be in the "mood." I cant even plan my spare as I never know what I will feel like doing when the time comes. I never have any plans for myself except for what I can see right infront of me which makes it hard to be reliable. I used to forget commitments often and so I started putting them in my calendar which helps immensely!

For me it's both mood and forgetfulness. Either I forget to do something or I won't feel like it. Or something will come up that I'd rather do. The list goes on.

On the part of doing it right now and the being in the mood for stuff.. I tend to overdo things for this reason. When I do my art, I obsess. Why? Because I know there will come a time when I lose it, the mood, the flow... the ability to do it. I'm in a lull right now and I knew it was coming back when I was going nuts with art. i got a lot done but it was all I did. Same with gaming. I love gaming but I obsess over it awhile because I know that if I don't finish what I'm doing, I will get distracted, lose the mood and not finish the game. everytime I lose it, I forget how to play or where I was and I end up starting over again Of course right now it's obsessing about 3d modeling and modding a game- skyrim. I can't seem to think about anything else for fear of losing the passion for it. Albeit it's temporary and it always comes back but I always have to gain as much knowledge in those times as I can because I don't know how long it will be before I can get back to it and I don't want to forget how.

Dunno if this is similar but this thread reminded me of this.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll write for a while, then stop. Draw a few things, stop. And the way I go through games, oh boy! I played Sonic Generations for 3DS for almost a year, clocking more than two hundred hours, then just stopped. I wound up with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon instead, and it lasted a few months too.

When teaching, I always told my students who asked me a question or had a request that if I didn't get to them and their request within a few minutes to gently remind me. They'd ask for something and while I was getting ready to do the request I'd talk to someone, be asked a few other things, help a student or two out, and totally forget the original request. Happened all the time.
