I do not like myself today,
and so, I have walked away from me.
I have separated my conciousness from
this physical realm. My mind floats above,
not thinking, not feeling, not seeing, not doing -
just being.
It is not being more aware, it is being unaware.
It is easier not to feel.
It is easier not to care.
It is simpler just to quiety stare
off into an unseen distance.
Somehow a bit of work gets done.
Someone steps into my space and
attention is demanded - face to face we are.
And for a moment I connect, then once again
I gaze upon some unseen star.
Come back to attention then,
finish a task that must be done.
Then I will be allowed to float away again.
Oh, that I could disconnect and never return.
