I know a guy who does this, and he doesn't even realize he's doing it when it happens.

Yes I do this. My kids catch me doing it and tell me to stop picking !! And I always am far away in thought and or stress when im doing it. I used to pick at my skin so badly my mom would take me to the doctors to figure out what I had and the dr always said from picking. You would not believe the grief I got from my mom.

I have dermatilomania so i'm fully acquainted with skin picking and the like...it can be very hard to break out of. Hope it's not proving too troublesome for you...

Yeah I pluck my armpit hear and even pubic hair sometimes when I am procrastinating. This particularly happens when I take too much stimulant medication. It is a pretty common nervous habit. It doesn't necessarily mean you have trich. I would only be concerned if plucking becomes an addiction for you and consumes your mind.

I don't do this, but I pick scabs and sometimes mindlessly start scratching myself. Sometimes I bleed, but I'm trying to correct this as I don't want to SI anymore.

No, but I've been known to pick at scabs and bug bites relentlessly.

When I'm bored/stressed, I sit and tweeze my eyebrows and my legs hairs. Sometimes I get really frustrated when I cant get them out ;-;
