Im not sure if its a symptom of BPD or just another issue i have but i take on others emotions and compare myself to there situations. Like i tried group therapy and i would be a mess after each session feeling like i wasnt worthy to be there and that everyone needed it more than me and like i had to help everyone. It happens when i watch the news or even an intense tv show especially if im in a low moment i cant separate there reality from my reality. DO any of you deal with this to?

YESYESYES. Group therapy is very hard for me too, because I am constantly comparing my problems to others problems and then invalidating my problems. I think the invalidating is definitely BPD related. I feel like, 'well that person on the news just lost their house to a flood, i should not feel the way i feel'.

I can very well relate to this, I do it a lot. I grew up in an environment that basically said to be grateful for what you have, you could be going through something worse, or what THEY are experiencing, etc. Always turning a cheek on ME, my need to feel, share and gain a healthy response/support. It is all well and good to be appreciative and realize you could have it more difficult no matter one's circumstance. But not to the point where you are lost & feeling as though you don't matter, and that your feelings, problems are minimized to the point of being null and void. WE are all our individual selves of feelings and situations. . . yet we all have them.

I am not sure that I 100% do what you are saying.... but I LOVED your tagline of "my reality vs others reality".

THAT seemed relate-able.

Yeah I've been in hospital a few times this year and I cant stop myself from apologising and insisting others needed it more than me, I still get shocked that people say BPD folks cant feel empathy its the EXACT opposite

Didn't know that people said BPD folks can't feel empathy. I am with you, I feel too much empathy.

I've heard this too, that BPD can't feel empathy. It's the reason my doctors have having trouble diagnosing me (IMO), because I am SO empathetic and reflective. Basically they said that if I am BPD then I would be self-centered and not-reflective. I am seeing a new doctor on Monday.

I've had these feelings too.
It feels totally invalidating because everyone else is defining reality for you.
I also find that I resent them for it (even though it is not their fault).

absolutely! i do this way too much...i take on the emotions of others way too easily and then i think of my own and start getting down because what if i dont deserve help or whatever...people always say "someone else has it worse than you" like its supposed to make me feel better aboit my situation, but honestly, it makes me feel even poopier...because now i feel horrible about my situation as well as everyone elses.

I always do this. ALWAYS. Like it doesn't matter how much I hurt, I feel SO selfish if I even consider it. And when I reply to this posts on here I feel SO selfish when I say "Oh hey! I feel the same way." Cuz Obviously that person hurts more than me and how dare I make everything about me. So yea >_>
