I can only speak for myself and I can say I experience elements of all the above. Pathetic self assessment as well. Aren't we lucky? ![]() Hope you are fairing okay,,moodycow .

Traveling west back toward Eden (interestingly the wise men in the Gospel account of Jesus' birth came from the East), has been full of confrontation with the trials and tribulations of living outside the Garden. She is an artist without doubt disappointed that paradise was not as close in 1969 as she and so many others hoped it was. Her work is now filled with the reality of humanity's failure to achieve the prophetic dream of her song, but never without the hope that that day will yet come. |

Hey don't say pathetic (even though I sometimes call myself that lol) the 'I can't cope' symptom is common to both depression and BPD as well as a host of many different conditions! I feel mine is linked to BPD as I didn't learn skills I needed to cope better in childhood and was emotionally abused. Pms is another one that makes me feel like that! My DBT therapist said that when I say 'I can't cope' to myself to be more descriptive so I'd say something like 'at the moment I feel very fearful about so and so' or 'I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work etc' the idea is that it's difficult to find a solution to 'I can't cope' and it often makes you feel worse. Where with the above statements there are possible solutions that may spring to mind such as 'I probably need to get a good nights sleep' or 'I need to find a way to take baby steps with tackling the thing I fear'

I have those thoughts.
When I break them down, they are easier to manage. Riding the waves of the moods can be like climbing a mountain. If I just look at the BIG heap of stone I think 'OMg I can't step over that' --- but when it's one step at a time.. i know i can do it and might even find something interesting along the way.
