The first time I heard I was bpd was when I was 14. The second time was about three weeks ago and I am close to being 20. I hear this is still a young age for bpd.

I'm in my 40's. I first heard the term suggested about 5 years ago by a counselor we were seeing for general marriage counseling.
I resisted at the time... but, I did have a traumatic childhood, was sexually abused as a child, and display most of the diagnosing criteria.

I was just talking to a friend about this a few weeks ago.
We decided to call it: "from womb to tomb" as some forms just seem like that, as it evolves throughout lifetimes.

38, this year , first time in a mental health clinical setting - over a year now, still working on it!

Looking back, my first major criteria began to take over around the age of 21. My twenties were brutal.

First saw it at 16 in some legal paperwork although I still haven't been officially told.

Oddly enough when being referred to a new psychologist last month I noticed the diagnosis was simply "cluster B disorder with narcissistic traits."

Still not sure if that means they think the BPD is unimportant now or if the doctor was just trying to cover up BPD so the psychologist wouldn't run scared lol

I was 30, and I have no past history of abuse or anything. If anything I was neglected because of the issues my parents had with my younger sister. Im the oldest child, but I grew up a middle child. My father worked 3 jobs so our mother could stay home with us, with my sisters problems we always went to my grandmothers, and my uncle is not even four years older than I....
Thanks for this!

I have no history of physical or sexual abuse as far as I can tell and the older I get, the more certain I am off that. I was ignored. Dad was always away either at work or traveling for work. Mom was depressed & bulimic. She spent a lot of time sleeping. I am #3 of four girls. There is an 8 year gap between me and sister #2 & sister #4. My parents hired a nanny once my little sister was born but she mostly tended to her. None of my sisters have BPD but the oldest one is a sociopath (steals from sisters and her own children) and the youngest probably has mild depression & anxiety.
