Hmm I did a quick Google. On first glance by name only I could be all four.

I could be all four, but I relate to discouraged borderline the most. My therapist doesn't like to talk diagnoses. Only when I brought it up to her did she confirm what she believed I had.

Here's the link to a website I found.

I think I could be all of them except maybe the impulsive subtype. I get bored and I can be impulsive or thrill-seeking, but I'm not charismatic, flirtatious, or captivating. And now that I read through them again, I guess I would place myself in the petulant borderline category with the other two tied for second and impulsive coming in last.
Thanks for this!

Good article but doesn't really make me feel good about myself. Not that I did in the first place.

I wasn't aware of these. But it's interesting to read how there's these subtypes within an already complicated diagnosis.
I think I fall under petulant (although not exclusively) more than the others.

Well after reading it almost 6 times I am all but the charismatic, flirtatious, or captivating most of the time. Except when I'm psychotic then everyone is like omg what drugs did she take.

I wonder if ppl think I'm on drugs all the time. I get these really intense anxiety attacks and act manic then when it gives way I can't keep my eyes open, I am so tired.

Petulant, definitely petulant. A bit of the discouraged.

I had a hard enough time getting my diagnosis as it is - just plain BPD, no subtype. Since the subtypes are not part of DSM (iirc), I doubt anyone would get a diagnosis of this type.

I have read about Millon's subtypes before, but only briefly. I have a problem with trying to break down BPD this way and even the way DSM criteria, as well as the alternate method in 5 (although it seems better than a criteria list) because of the large variety of ways the disorder can develop depending upon experiences as well as the personality genes inherited by both parents - where likely only one of which may be predisposed to borderline traits (personalities are inherited and BPD is ~60% heritable).

Without actually reading his book on PD's though I reserve committing myself to an opinion on the validity of the subtypes. Its on my list of to reads, even though it is older it is still held as an authority by those in the profession.

More research needed, really :3 Le sigh.
