So im not sure if everyone else's therapists call our different personalities "parts" but mine does and she is on maternity leave right now and as the days turn to weeks i feel like i am completely losing my mind! I feel so broken and not whole, like all of my parts are so boldly separated its torture. I dont know what to do. HELP!!

Look up Internal Family Systems. It is all about our parts. Not sure if this is the therapy technique she is using. If not it can still help you.

When a child’s emotional needs are not met and a child is repeatedly hurt and abused, this deeply and profoundly affects the child’s development. Wanting those unmet childhood needs in adulthood. Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |
