Does anyone feel that they have lost the ability to think. I have, and I spend most of my days saying to my husband and councellor "I DON'T KNOW". She asks me questions like What was the thought behind a certain thing, I DONT KNOW. Even to read posts on here, I can't follow them or I don't understand them. Is anyone else like me and how do you go about thinking. I have learned to have nothing in my brain for so long the idea of thinking is so difficult, I really don't know how or where to start... Help!!

I understand it in regards to reading posts and writing out thoughts. Often it's too overwhelming for me to organize my thoughts and write something so i give up and don't even try.

I don't really experience it though with my therapist.
Thanks for this!

U r probably confused/depressed.
The thing which u r telling most often happens during depression. Brain loses its ability to think. I suggest u visit a psychiatrist ASAP.

BTW, it happened wid me also, when I was depressed.
Thanks for this!

Depressive traits can lead to this sort of thing...that said a BPD mind is in overdrive most of the time so it's not surprising you're experiencing a certain amount of confusion. What does your therapist say? All you can do is be honest and hope that you're taken seriously.

I also say "I don't know" a lot to the therapist and my husband (though I've learned not to say it as much to my husband as it annoys him). But for me, it's not usually because I can't think, it's because I can't decide on an answer.
Thanks for this!
