been taking prozac for a few months now noticed some differences in mood and anger and such. What distresses me is that I've been creating music for awhile to cope with all my emotions and generally they came out quite emotional beautiful songs. I don't know if I'm being delusional but after taking anti-depressants for two months my music is not as beautiful and emotional, do you think it's because that I'm less moody and upset with my meds my music comes out different, or am I maybe being delusional?
Plz looking for some help.

I also create music and I do not think moods define the songs, your mood may be a prompting event for a song but depression doesn't write the music the whole person does in my opinion. Also don't think you are delusional I think sometimes we write beautiful songs and sometimes we don't.

Hello Xavier.S: It is the case, I believe, that antidepressants dull the emotions. The highs aren't as high & the lows aren't as low. So it is certainly possible that the Prozac is having some impact on the music you're writing. Or it may be that it is just your emotional reaction to the music you're creating that is being affected. Either way, I feel confident in writing that you are not delusional. What you are dealing with is simply the reality of being on antidepressants. At least this has been my experience. It may be something that you'll want to discuss with your prescribing physician. Good luck!
