I just ordered it today, and read some good reviews about it. A survival guide can always come in handy, right? I just wish there were some about schizoid personality disorder too.

The Borderline Personality Disorder Survival Guide: Everything You Need to Know About Living with BPD
Alex L. Chapman

I'm pretty excited about getting it. Well, as excited as I am currently capable of experiencing.

Do tell me what you think of it after you read it, please? Finding something that helps those with the disorder itself and not about how to live with someone with the disorder (huge pet peeve, sorry) is a gem. Almost too good to be true, but I may buy it. Thanks!

Oh...it better not be a guide for someone in a relationship with a BPD. It didn't strike me as being a book like that, but now that you mention it...it could be and I'm really, sincerely hoping it isn't. I don't need to read about how difficult I am to deal with.

Definitely have the same pet peeve. I am so sick of hearing how everyone else has to deal with us. I am totally OUT of all relationships so I am NOT around anyone who might get HURT!!!!!!

So far its a great, legit book. I love it and am learning so much about BPD that the internet sites just don't cover. Its also very empowering and fights stigma.

Oh cool, I did not realize one of the people that wrote it (Kim Gratz PhD) is actually working at a hospital in the city where I live. They have been doing a lot of BPD related studies on distress tolerance for quite a while. I know some people who were in one of her studies on self-harm. I added it to my amazon wishlist, thanks for posting about it!!!

Ooohhh! I'd love to hear how it goes! But yeah that's a huge gear grinder for me too. Last I checked we are humans who can be spoken with and worked with, not handled and dealt with like savage beasts or people with the IQ of a potato.
Thanks for this!
