Now when I start drinking beer I vomit. Ugh. Can't even get drunk. Why???? I do not like beer but it took the pain away.

Sorry that it makes you sick . for me I used to drink alcahol and it did numb me from pain but it made my life more caotic in the long run. I do miss drinking sometimes . I understand what your looking for. Something to take the pain away. Do other alcaholic drinks make you sick ?

I used to drink and take pain pills to numb out. When I got sober all the repressed feelings came back, the good ones and the not so good ones. But now I'm learning how to deal with them in a healthy way. It is hard but it is so worth it. I go to AA and lots of the recovering alcoholics say 'the booze quit working,' it's a common thing. Not saying you're an alcoholic, that's something you have to decide for yourself. I am an alcoholic and a drug addict and I am 5 months sober.
