Looking for a peer support, or something comparable, for working with BDP. I really need someone to talk when I am having a bad day, pre-crisis, to talk to about emotions, urges, impulses. I can't keep downloading all of this information onto my partner. Its making for a terribly infectious relationship.

Thanks for the help.

Hello illnoise4567: to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Thanks for the reply. This is great information but not quite what I am looking for. I would like a little more information on social groups but I am not looking for posting more times or a chat room. I need some in person contact or via phone/texting. This is something I need and I have not been able to find it.

I was diagnosed with PDNOS (Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified) 7 years ago, not BPD. But I similarly have felt the need for peer support.

PsychCentral has met a lot of that need for me. It's not immediate and some of my posts have received no replies (mostly before Skyzeeks was here! ). But it is what is available currently for people with personality disorders who need support.

Please give it a try? I found that just putting my thoughts, feelings, and concerns in words on a public forum was helpful, even if it was frustrating when nobody responded. At least I learned some tolerance for that, which has been helpful.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
