Has anyone elses therapist put it in your therapy to read this book?? I so far hate it :-( because I can relate to almost everything in it...I still have a problem accepting that there is something wrong and reading this makes me feel like I acknowledge it and give into it :-( it's so depressing!!!

I read it on my own, found it very insulting and condemning. You are not alone in hating this book.

Out of the countless bad info about BPD, here is something positive. Embrace the Benefits of Borderline Personality Disorder - HealthyPlace

I found it very insulting as well, a very limited perspective.

I don't think I've read this.. however, books and articles with an insulting and limited perspective make me angry and sad

The book was depressing because it didn't have answers or help for BPD. The same author later wrote "sometimes I act crazy" (or perhaps the same words in a different order, I forget) and that second book was much better. It talked about treatments and gave advice for family members.

I read parts of it. I found it really annoying that it kept mentioning how much of a hassle we are to our families and friends and that putting up with us is a full-time job.

Um, I think living with BPD is in itself a full-time job. It's exhausting.
