I am 35 and have been recently diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Apparently through research I have done, I have had this since age 18 when I was first diagnosed as mentally ill. I was misdiagnosed many times until I had an extensive set of psychiatric tests that included this diagnosis. I know I have had it all this time because I can look back at past behavior and feelings and realized it was always there. It has gotten very severe over the years because of misdiagnosis and non treatment for the real issues. I am now learning about this and I am scared because I have never known that I had something so extensive or severe. The research tells me I have always had it. The report however was surprising because I never thought I would have something like this. I had never heard this diagnosis connected to me before this report. Now I am left scared and confused on what to do. If anyone here can offer support and friendship, I welcome it. Anyone who has or knows of this please help. I would appreciate any help that is offered.
