I just got out of an inpatient residential hospital stay where they gave me several diagnoses, but the primary one was BPD with Avoidant and OCPD traits. At first I was really unhappy with the diagnosis because based on what I know from other people with BPD, I don't have problems with anger or relationships. However, I do technically meet 5 of the 9 criteria, so...yeah.
I have the: emptiness, self-harm, affect instability, fear of abandonment, disassociation, and sometimes impulsivity

But my psychologist said that she was hopeful about my primary diagnosis being BPD rather than MDD (Which was second) because BPD is much more treatable - and that 80% of people who do really intensive therapy and work through it, no longer meet the criteria for a diagnosis after 2 years. So I guess there is hope?

Personally, I thought I had a decent personality. But apparently I have a decent personality with 3 personality disorders tagging along.

It's a party up in here...

Any support? Suggestions? Ideas? Feedback?

Keep your sense of humor! There is hope for improvement even if it doesn't "go away."

Also, the BPD part of the boards is not very active for some reason so don't get too discouraged if it takes a while for people to respond.

Yes, BPD is treatable but it takes hard work. Have you looked into Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)? That would help you quite a bit.
