I was diagnosed with BPD in July. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and social anxiety disorder when I was a teenager and had those diagnosis' confirmed at the same time I received my BPD diagnosis. Two nights ago I was 'soft' diagnosed with PTSD, it was discussed that PTSD I suffered as a child (and went untreated/diagnosed) then developed into BPD so that's my current focus.

I was given a new medication with my PTSD discussion called rexulti at 1mg. My standard meds set up is:
40mg citalopram
25-50mg of trazodone (dose changes as needed to help with sleeping disturbances but my regular dose is 25mg by just cutting the pill in half)
5mg diazepam (as needed only in emergency situations for severe panic attacks)

I've found the last two day's that I've been extremely tired and finding it harder to focus on things. I was taking rexulti in the morning with the citalopram but I am unable to tell if my tiredness is due to the rexulti or just symptoms of the assorted disorders :P

So I was hoping someone might have experience with rexulti as an addition to their normal antidepressant. I've only been on rexulti two days so I am fine waiting out the side effects if that's the case. I haven't been able to find much info from other people with my current meds combo and disorders so I'd really appreciate any advice.

Medications can make you tired. Anytime I was ever on medications I just felt so drained out. Even at their lowest dosages. It may be best to talk to your Doctor and see what they say about it. Finding the right dosages and stuff with medications is always a hit and miss with the doctors. They will be back and forth adjusting as needed. Just make sure to talk to them and let them know what is going on and how you are feeling.

I have been on over 60 types of medications, and none of them have worked for me. They usually make me tired, or they make me gain weight, or worse yet, they make me lose interest in sex.

I even have a rule that if a medication makes me gain as little as 5 pounds, I stop taking it immediately.

You have a right to self-advocate. If a medication is making you feel worse, then tell your doctor taking this medication is not in your future plans.
