BPD does not have to be a life sentence You can recover but it takes a lot of work. What is causing your trouble sleeping?

What I meant was towards another thing... The hard thing I also have a learning disorder which takes a lot of work too. I'm not sure how much more I can take.

I don't know if this will help but here it goes: I'm starting treatment for the first time ever tomorrow. I am terrified - but I am also hopeful because there is a chance that everything will get better from here on in. It won't be easy and it may be painful but it could be worth it.

Maybe try to think of it that way? The sooner you can get the right help, the sooner life has a greater probability of being better.

Puzzclar,

You are not Borderline Personality Disorder. You are a person who suffers from specific issues that happen to be criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder. As much as you may resonate with the illness and the insights that fellow suffers may share, you are an individual who, at anytime, could just as easily NOT meet the criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder. Don't forget that all of us are humans. That makes us innately similar on so many different levels, including in pain and suffering. Just because you resonate with people who have Borderline Personality Disorder doesn't mean you are relating to them due to Borderline Personality Disorder and the many afflictions that may or may not present. Life itself is marred with stresses. Truth is, all human beings have traits of Borderline Personality Disorder and some of those traits come and go at certain points in our lives. (Think divorce, major life stresses and changes) Everyone falls on the Personality Disorder Spectrum whether they like it or not. It doesn't make us bad or unique.

I hope I don't trigger or offend anyone, this is meant to normalize some of our behavior because unfortunately, sometimes Borderline Personality Disorder and its associated symptomatology can be confused with simply being a human. Don't forget that you are allowed to hurt, feel suicidal, have abandonment issues, have attachment issues, be needy, be upset, be whatever; it means you are human.

Thanks,
Hd7970ghz

What is the difference between actually having BPD and just testing to have it because you have all the symptoms? How do you know which you are? How do you treat it if it is not BPD?

Thank you for your time.
