I am seeking help and suggestions from those who have experience with BPD. I have a child who's father was diagnosed with BPD and whom I believe exhibits most of the signs/symptoms of BPD but has currently been undiagnosed (not from lack of seeking assistance). We've been dealing with the emotional roller coaster for 17 years and simply need some direction. Any words of advice are appreciated. Yours kindly, MomofBPDundxd

Hello mom: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

Here are links to some articles from PsychCentral's archives that may be of some interest:

https://psychcentral.com/blog/living...lity-disorder/

https://psychcentral.com/lib/how-to-...sorder-part-1/

I don't know, of course, if you're here simply seeking advice with regard to this particular concern or if you plan to hang in here with us. However, should you be planning to continue on (we hope you do)... may I suggest you introduce yourself over on PC's New Member Introductions forum? Here's a link:

There's a lot of support that can be available here on PC. The more you post, & reply to other members' posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are the chat rooms where you'll be able to interact with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) So please keep posting!

I have BPD. One thing that I can express is no matter how irrational ones feeling are they are still real. For me not having loved one that tried to understand and validate it, and wrote it off as silly, could send me for loops.

You are doing the right thing by seeking to understand. BPDfamily (in addition to here) is good support for non BPD individuals dealing with others.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
