My signature is unchanged from a few years ago and at that time I was diagnosed with bp and BPD. Now it's just bp, but I keep having mood swings and meltdowns that the BP meds do nothing about and my new pdoc thinks the only thing that will help is DBT. I know bipolar is involved because I do have periods of mania and depression that the meds do help with a lot, but there is something else going on that causes these meltdowns I've had since I was little. I just get really confused about what is really going on. Past diagnosis and theories added to the basic bipolar include schizophrenia or schizoaffective, borderline, autism spectrum, ADHD and anxiety. I feel like a confused mess.

DBT is good for many conditions so it's worth trying.
It is possible to have borderline traits and not qualify for the disorder. |

I agree that it’s possible to have borderline traits and not have the full disorder (in fact I suspect quite a lot of people do
