My signature is unchanged from a few years ago and at that time I was diagnosed with bp and BPD. Now it's just bp, but I keep having mood swings and meltdowns that the BP meds do nothing about and my new pdoc thinks the only thing that will help is DBT. I know bipolar is involved because I do have periods of mania and depression that the meds do help with a lot, but there is something else going on that causes these meltdowns I've had since I was little. I just get really confused about what is really going on. Past diagnosis and theories added to the basic bipolar include schizophrenia or schizoaffective, borderline, autism spectrum, ADHD and anxiety. I feel like a confused mess.

I'm sorry you are feeling such confusion over all of this. I hope you do have an opportunity to participate in DBT. I've never done it myself. But it seems to come highly recommended.

DBT is good for many conditions so it's worth trying.

It is possible to have borderline traits and not qualify for the disorder.

I agree that it’s possible to have borderline traits and not have the full disorder (in fact I suspect quite a lot of people do ..)

I hope that you can access DBT
