15 Things Not To Do With Someone With Borderline Personality

I was reading this particular article this morning to hopefully gain some insight into my husband's bpd diagnosis. He was diagnosed late in life, and told by therapists that it will get easier to deal with, with time. Lately, it doesn't feel that way. He saw the article that I was reading, and the generalizations made shook him up so bad. He felt they were inaccurate and left him feeling of no hope for him. The affect was so intense, that it left him with suicidal ideation, borderline on actually feeling suicidal.

For him, a support system is a more positive influence on him than a therapist due to negative interactions.

I feel the same way about a support system. I go to support groups for people with depression.

His support system is all over the place. Between bpd pushing people away, other diagnoses, i.e. agoraphobia, anxiety will sometimes keep him from getting out. Although over the summer, he's come along way, he's driving again.
