Without the context is not easy to give an opinion. At least, not for me.
There’s a video by Dr Grande in which he treats the differences between Narcissism and Borderline. I think to remember it was most based on how one and other disorder may seem similar but what is for real behind each symptom are very different. I remember that a person with NPD chose not having empathy whereas a person with BPD has it. This last one has remorse and shame. Then, manipulation are very different. While Narc does it for a sense of entitlement, the borderline manipulate to avoid the extreme turmoil that causes them abandonment. @Fuzzy, could you give more clues about the doctor who says this. I’m very interested. Please. I found several videos. I haven’t seen them yet. Only the one I mentioned above.

Well I found this you-tube video about borderline being a failed Narcissist.
I’m being unable to find a page with the professional profile of this lady, Jacie West so she likely will be another you-tuber who is interested in this topic but I couldn’t find any background.

Hi Azul, I don't remember where I saw that. I think it was a short post by someone I didn't know. She didn't give any clues or say what else if anything, the doctor said. I had read before somewhere the theory that ''borderlines have a narcissistic core''. I think there are a lot of NPD's out there who are in denial.. one of my parents for example. They don't ever go for treatment as it's always someone else who is the problem. According to them.

I don't think borderlines and narcists (spelling) are the same, us borderlines normally know something is wrong and don't want to feel the way we do

This is how I see it.
They come, even when included in the same cluster on the DSM, as different personality disorders for a reason. In my opinion and from what I’ve read, the core of BPD is fear of abandonment while in NPD is having this self-centred identity built putting at risk by someone else or simply circumstances in life. From that, I see both PD’s so different. Someone with BPD needs others to complete their damage sense of self whereas someone with NPD renounced from the beginning to contemplate others as an equal. They don’t need anybody else. Maybe, covert ones, look for some kind of supply but other than that, they don’t consider the value of other people. In the world exist, them in the center and the others orbiting around them. Then, they may display some openly kind of similarities (rage, thoughts distortions, etc) By far, BPD is the richest PD in what symptoms display regards. And it’s to a point normal that there will be some similarities but only on the surface. Example: Polarised thinking. Someone with BPD: You love me or you hate me. Someone with NPD: You are for or against me.

Yes, I’m sure. Lots of emotions. Ups and downs.
Problems to understand what’s going on in a normal way or under a normal interpretation. It must be a hell. Nonetheless, you gals and guys, have also lots of positive points. I don’t remember if I wrote about them in the forum but if I didn’t do it, I comprise myself to write about them and post them here.
