and most if not all mental disorders listed in diagnostic manuals require the problems not be related to other mental and physical health issues. in other words if you do experience any dissociative .....like..... symptoms problems and behaviors associated with borderline personality disorder they wont be called dissociative, they will be labeled by whatever terms and diagnostics related to borderline personality disorder calls them. for example you state you have a fuzzy static head like on tv. in dissociation terms as of march 2022, using non personal, general commonly found by media based ways phrasing of having a fuzzy static head like on tv will disqualify that symptom for mental disorders. you will need to go into personal details that only you know about it related to you. my telling you I have a fuzzy static head and in general how it is for me is not going to do you any good for you do not have my life, my health issues, my medications and all the whats, hows, whens, triggers, wheres and so forth is different with me then you. for the problem to qualify for a "dissociation" problem, in you certain specific details about having a fuzzy static head, have to be met that only you can provide them with since its your body, your mind, your life, your health issues, your medications and so on. in medication terms having a fuzzy static head like on tv is called a medication side effect. fix for this is change in medications. in hearing loss this is called tinnitus. fix for this is hearing aids, and other treatments to those with hearing loss. for every mental disorder and physical health issue a "fuzzy static head" is common and known by many different terms. diagnosing it in every mental and physical health problem is individualized. let me show you what I mean ... I too experience having a fuzzy static head like on tv. I have various mental disorders, physical health problems, normal every day issues, medication issues. Im a wife, parent and career woman. All of those things at times include my having a "fuzzy static head like shown on tv". sometimes its just normal stress, normal anxiety. other times not sometimes its part of my MS (Multiple Sclerosis) sometimes not, sometimes its a medication side effect sometimes not... I could go on and on and on in the areas of my life that I have and sometimes do experience having a fuzzy static head. and each time it happens Im able to describe to my doctor in great detail information about my fuzzy static head, from how it feels, sounds like, how long it lasts, what triggered it, what I did about the trigger, when and where it happened and so much more. Only I can do that in words that cannot be found online in forums, groups, by google and so on, only I can explain in great details not found by typical media-based ways how my symptoms problems and behaviors affect me. these diagnostic tests are looking deeper under the surface at the individual to only you things. they wont be asking on a "Borderline personality disorder" assessment whether you have a "fuzzy static head like on tv" or any other dissociative disorder questions. dont worry so much about whether we say this or that is a BPD thing or not. just breath relax and take the test according to those deeper not found by typical media based ways (aka online forums, groups, google, books and so on). focus instead on how things affect you personally on the levels that they affect you. anyone normal and not can experience what you posted but only you know the more important and personal details about you that the tests are looking for. just take the test like you posted you want to and are going to do. dont worry about what things are called and all the what ifs and such that can cause you needless stress. if you are diagnosed with BPD your treatment provider is required to completely inform you about your mental disorder, your symptoms, problems and so on, develop a treatment plan with you and provide you with informative up to date materials (pamplets, and so on) that can educate you on your diagnoses, so that you dont have to rely on the typical media based ways. |

Thank you, I think you are right, I am worrying and trying to get in control too much. I have got a lot off the forums so I sometimes ask for what can’t be got here. I don’t trust myself so I try to get other people to validate things before I say them. Thank you for your detailed response ❤️

AnaWhitney you may have BPD but you're NOT BPD. You will always be you with or without BPD symptoms.
I know in my case I've thankfully "matured" in my BPD actions. I don't think it happened on purpose ,just that I've grown up and am not willing to be hurt or abandoned by people I thought were friends. I tend to watch how I act with new people so I'm not rejected. I still have a strong sui and self harm part to me. I know I dissociate ,especially if I feel threatened or triggered by something. I don't know if what I'm saying is helpful but I DO know that regardless of BPD, you are you and most likely a very nice, competent person. __________________ Once you are real, you can't become unreal again.
