Today there will be Live Stream Podcast with DocJohn and 3 other guests 1PM EDT on Facebook
Login to your Facebook account and then go to www.facebook.com/PsychCentral You can ask text questions or make comments after the live stream begins. Sometimes it can take a couple minutes before the Live Stream feed is active so if you get there early, you may have to wait a bit. While you are waiting, you can listen and view previous podcasts you will find there. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Is it possible that some of these, going into the future, could be scheduled later in the day? Many of us are still working and it's impossible to watch a livestream at 11am PST. It would be nice if the time could shift so that others could participate, at least in a few installments. And I know they can be viewed afterwards, but it's nice to be able to participate when it's live. Thanks.

If I were to watch this podcast on Facebook, how are you going to match my username to my name on Facebook? You won't even know I'm watching it unless I made a comment. And if I did make a comment, how are you going to know that the person on Facebook is me? Yes, certainly there are people out there who dox others, but there are plenty of security measures to take that can prevent that. And if you are still this concerned, then as you said, don't watch.
I just don't see how visiting the Psych Central Facebook page is somehow considered disclosing my real life information on PC. It's not. The Facebook page is a thing you can follow or not follow, but as someone who runs multiple Facebook pages for business myself, I don't have the ability to just see who visits the page (Facebook tells us who follows/likes us, not just who visits the page). Sure if you follow the page, it shows me you follow it, but I don't get access to your email or your username on another website simply because you followed a page on Facebook. And that's the administrator of the page. The general public certainly does not get that information either. __________________ What if I fall? Oh, my dear, but what if you fly? We do not keep track of anyone who views the livestream. So we do not know if you view it. We have no way of connecting your username here to your real Facebook name (nor would we want to).
If you choose to ask a question, your question is public on the attached chat to the livestream. I do not see comments or questions in real-time unless I go back and review the chat afterward (which I haven't done, nor am I likely to). We will be doing 3 more of these chats, every Friday at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT). Please join us if you'd like! __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |

I don't belong to Facebook for a variety of reasons. Do you have to have a Facebook account to attend the chat?

I'm not sure. You can watch the old videos without logging in, so maybe....?

Thanks DocJohn. Great suggestion. I was able to go to PsychCentral.com - Home | Facebook
and watch the Podcast from last week without signing into Facebook. I did have to click on Not Now when asked to log in and then I could click on podcast and watch. Although there is a nag to log in until I click on the podcast. If I want to scroll down, just use the wheel on your mouse if you have one. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
