Hello,

Here I go and I need some advice, so 6 weeks wife separated from me, she had 2 daughters from a previous marriage, they mean the world to me. So right after we separated, my wife came back into contact with her x who abused her in front of my oldest. This man dragged her from a car and almost killed her in front of my oldest who was 9 at the time. My wife flew to texas for a week to be with him and this past week told my daughters that he is coming for a visit and will be staying with them. My oldest is so scared of this man and told her mom she will never set foot in a house with him, she has promised that he has changed. They both stayed with me, my wife moved out 2 weeks ago, I forgot the mention that.

Now this man was supposed to leave today and my oldest just contacted me to tell me that mom said he can't get a flight until this weekend and there is nothing she can do, he has to stay here, so she told he daughter to go stay with me or a friend or cousin or that come here and stay cause he is a changed person. I am beyond upset at what she is doing to her daughters and I do not know what course of action to take.

Any help?

These are very complex situations. How old is the daughter that doesn't want to stay at the house? Did you adopt these kids? The age of the daughters is going to play big in this and that you are not a biological parent. The safety of the kids is the main thing. Sadly you may not have many options other than to keep a close eye on the situation. If the daughter that is uncomfortable feels better leaving the house then she should do that. Maybe she could visit her mom while this guy(is he the biological father?) stays there and see how she feels. Again, age plays a big part in this.

I agree with Trace14. Your options may be limited if you haven't adopted them. Your wife is not being a good mother or role model. Her kids should come first. I guess you can keep a close eye on the situation and let the oldest daughter stay with you. What is that woman thinking?
