I am having difficulty putting a list of life affirming activities for me together. i.e. Activities that breath life into you. Would some of you be willing to share your list of life affirming activities with me? Thanks!

well when I started, it would be poems about my feelings and emotions. now though, I focus on writing stories- I am in the process of writing a few- one about a family trip to orlando, one about a quiz, one about a fairytale forest writing stories helps me take my mind off life if you go to creative writing, you can actually see the orlando story (or some of it) I keep forgetting to update it |

- reading/writing poetry
- shower singing - kind of random, but skincare. it feels nice to spend time taking care of my skin and treating myself to face lotion, face masks, etc. - daydreaming. it's important to me that I'm able to imagine a different way of life. - sending and receiving snail mail |

tbh I think the connection you get from activities isn't so much what you do but how you do them. Even a simple walk can be life affirming if done mindfully (or for some people, although I have to confess not me, doing the housework)

snailmail can be fun I can't count the times i've raced to my door when I heard the postman drop a letter and think- ooooo, something awesome for me! and, usually it is I use amazon and ebay a lot, so I like getting emails too. in fact, that's my main way of comunicating |

Carmia,
Thank you. I have been working on my mindfulness the last 6 months. I am improving, but have a long way to go. I appreciate your reply. |

Anything outdoors!
Hiking Off Roading Cutting the lawn Working in the yard Working on someone else's yard or house Any manual labor is so rewarding to create something or clean something you get immediate gratification of a job well don. I talked to a therapist and she said "A new truck won't solve your problems" I wasn't expecting it too. __________________ "So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains And we never even know we have the key" |
