We hug our grumpy care bear, too!

We went for a walk today and got healthy food that the littles like (from a door delivery service).

The littles were protected by the teens and other protector alters inside when we were outside.

I LOVE The Muppets Christmas Carol! I have for years---I found it when I was in my early thirties, and was certain I am the only adult who was fun/ wacky/ silly enough to dare to sit through it (and sing along with it at points), year after year, religiously. And yes, I cry at the emo parts.

Yesterday, I indulged in a rare and almost-forbidden piece of cinnamon loaf...and enjoyed every bite of it.

Last night, I wrapped the few presents I'd found for the two of us (yes, I buy my own presents; it's a long story) , and for the cats, and played Christmas tunes and sang along to most of them. I danced a little bit to the cheery, boppy ones.

Tonight, I am putting the last of the ornaments on the tree (got a little behind this week), and listening to vintage Christmas music on the cable radio station. This is a very good association for me. And I intend to have a candy cane when I am done! what did you do today for your inner child?

Sounds like you had a great day, MuseumGhost!
Yesterday, I watched Santa Clause the Movie. Couldn’t really hear it properly but still really enjoyed it, haven’t seen it in a few years but it was a childhood favourite of mine.
Today, I allowed myself to feel angry over stuff mum had said yesterday - she told me before we left for our in law’s house that there was (according to them, apparently, but I seriously doubt they actually said anything) to be “no coughing, burping etc etc at the table.” Basically, best behaviour only. This surprised me anyway because these in laws are actually pretty laid back. But I ended up feeling on edge for a while because I was still afraid of offending them by accident. I rubbed my nose at one point during the movie and even got told off by mum for that! The whole thing about policing my (not perfect, but still acceptable) manners, when I’m almost 40 to begin with and never act like a total pig in other people’s houses anyway just really got my goat. I felt quite angry after we got home, but I am seeing this for what it is and while I can’t directly challenge her, I’m not going to internalise it.

Today: Nothing for my inner child (sadly). But I did take the last 3 days off of all chores (except a little laundry).

Not much today, except make pizza (their favorite). We did get Lite Brite - a toy we wished for back in the 1980s and finally got for ourselves. It's being decontaminated in the living room. It's about ready to bring into the bedroom to play.

I have OCD, so I try to keep things in the living room for about 2 to 3 days before I bring it into the bedroom. I will still disinfect it a second time before bringing it into my safe bedroom though.

Lite Brite

Not sure if it makes sounds yet, but it does light up. We might need to get batteries for it first though.

We can make pictures with it. We plan on using it as a creative grounding toy for the littles.

I used to have a creative toy like that.

it was called "lights alive"

basically, you used diffrent keys- and each key was a color/ pattern/ picture, to draw on the board

then, when you finished, you pulled the handle at the side and the lights came on to light the picture up, and another pull cleared the board so you could start again

it was fun!
