How to forget, internally, past emotional negleting and physical beating memories than suddenly torments you after awaking from a life long live of depression and dissociation?
I know it takes time, but I don't have time. I have goals and crazy work. And no one to sue my wounds. __________________ I am not crazy, I am hurt |

My thinking. I have to train this thinking. I have a support system. Messed up but is there. People won't leave me again on my own.

I wish I knew the answers to this. triggers come up for me every day (in general life, in conversation, even in toxic contact) I think part of you is never going to forget everything- this is childhood, upbringing, an important part of life (that's never going to repeat itself) their's only one childhood, 1 family, I'd like to think positive memories/ happy memories will eventually replace the negative ones, but we both know it's not that simple |

Reading the books about Childhood Emotional Neglect help me because they inform me about what i should have been given, what i should have been taught. They fill in the holes. Neglect left me feeling like swiss cheese - still tasty, but a lot of air! I should have been a brie!

me too in a way I like doing childish things and things I never got the chance to do at the appropriate age sometimes people look at me strangely, but bleh. I guess it is a little strange, sure, but if that's what you feel you need to do... |

I recently went to build a bear and you could tell that the woman behind the counter who helped make the bears wasn't impressed she didn't say anything, but I could tell by her attitude and her lack of enthusiasm she was thinking oh, my, god. how old is this person insisting that she wants to kiss the heartbeat before putting it in the bear? I didn't get to kiss it I was sort of embarrassed, I suppose, everyone around me was... 3, or 4, perhaps a few younger people, and I suppose I do understand why the woman wasn't impressed still though. it made me feel a little out of place |

Outside approval is your addiction? How do you nurture your inner child? I wouldn’t want to do the “build a bear” ... I do have some stuffies for my inner cub though __________________ |

I don’t think you can ever forget. I’m very sorry for your pain and I’m sorry there’s no simple answer to easing it. Each day is a new day and a chance to make your life into what you want it to be. It can’t all be perfect.... You deserve some happiness and blessings though and I hope that’s what you find.
