I was laughed at recently because someone thought it was babiesh for me to look after a baby dolly at my age
they are like you're a grown woman, you don't need a baby dolly

and I'm like well, if you knew the half of it..

childhood neglect still isn't got by so many people

I'm sorry mean people laughed at you. You're never too old to have a baby dolly!

I'm 47. I'm multiple. I have a Care Bear (Grumpy), and the baby Yoda doll, and female Army women toys, and Mr. Potato Head, Mrs. Potato Head, and baby potato heads. We need our toys for the littles inside. But even I, the main person in this DID system, needs toys. CEN therapy, to me, means that we can still find ways to make up for lost childhood. Toys do help us.

What does DID system mean? I don't get a lot of acronyms I see on here. Even if I look it up, it would give multiple meanings depending on context, usually.

People don't get a lot of things. And what business is it of theirs what you do?

Yeah CEN is a real thing, and I didn't even know it had an official name until I came across this forum on this site.

I still play with some things/games others would find babyish, and I’m 38. Mostly action figures of a certain video game character and other things aimed at younger people. Hell, I got criticised by family for being “too old” for video games when I was a teenager - at a time when I still wasn’t exactly being encouraged to be independent and go out by myself, so, what else was I going to do? Thing is nobody actually told me what I was “supposed” to like as I got older anyway, so I just kept hobbies that felt good to my soul/inner child.
I do them in private and don’t really share, because other people can be weirdly unreasonable about these things.

I've gotten crap from people for being into Hello Kitty. They say I'm a woman, not a little girl.

Well HK brings back happy memories from when I WAS a girl.
