@raging vortex I think if I ask my inner child, it may not be sure of its response. I am finding that when I treat others with kindness, my inner child feels secure and safe.
If I reply to others in anger or judgmentally, I think my inner child feels unsafe and uncertain and unloved. To my inner chlid, how I treat others is how I will treat them. So the measure of if they feel loved can probably be determined by how I treat others. @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" Last edited by CANDC; Apr 18, 2022 at 11:09 AM.. For me, it's a little bit of both. Other people can negatively affect (or positively affect) my feelings for a short time, anyway; and how I treat others can do a great deal for reminding me that I can rise above certain situations, and remain kind. This always makes all of me happy, and my inner child feels less like the sky is about to fall.
My inner child is happiest when I can be self-determining, and also when I have the sense I'm REALLY being heard, and understood. Those two don't come together at the same time very often, but when they do, it's great. |

The Skeezyks' inner child passed away many years ago may it rest in peace.

About 3 weeks ago I was treated extremely badly by my (now former) psych med provider. It was an awful experience. My inner child has been having a rough go of it lately. It feels like it's 8 years old again during one of Mom's episodes, and so on.
